Protecting the environment is a major issue for humanity, and its importance is growing as the climate crisis worsens. Reducing the environmental impacts of economic activity is necessary for the preservation of the planet for future generations. As a leading business corporation, we at Fridenson also practice responsibility towards the environment and are take measures to manage and reduce our impact on the environment.
In recent years, we have been working to implement innovative technologies in our business operations, allowing us to reduce our ecological footprint. As a company with a significant fleet of vehicles, one of our major environmental impacts is in the area of greenhouse gas emissions. Our technologies, both in the field of vehicle fleet management and in the field of green transportation, allow us to streamline the transportation system, increase the value we generate for customers, and of course benefit the environment. For example, all our trucks meet the Euro 6 diesel standard, the most stringent environmental standard for trucks. During the year, our first corporate social responsibility report will be published, which will describe in detail the processes we perform for the environment and society in Israel and around the world.
As of 2015, the company began to purchase vehicles with motor operators in the “Euro 6” standard. These engines significantly improve the emission quality. The company also purchased a gas-powered truck.
Since 2016, a company with a fleet of 100 or more heavy-duty vehicles has been required to submit a report on environmental pollution caused by its vehicles.
Starting November 2018, a diesel vehicle manufactured before 2005, and included in the Euro 3 standard will not pass unless measures have been installed to reduce air pollution (particulate filter).
Almost all of the company’s diesel-powered vehicles are manufactured in Europe and therefore meet the above standards.
The company’s policy is to replace such vehicles once every five years with a new vehicle, which naturally meets the newer standards.
